Enigma Simulator by Terry Long

End of Development

It’s been awhile since my last update to Enigma Simulator. I’ve been busy with school and other things. Soon, I will be starting my new job at Apple.
For this reason, I sadly will no longer be working on Enigma Simulator. I would have liked to add more features, but it already has quite a few.

Maybe when I get a chance I can upload the source code and allow others to improve upon it or just play around. I also have a mostly complete iPhone version that I never got around to finishing.

Hey, I know it has been a while, but is there any plans to release the source code still? I think it would be cool to see the community take over for you.

  2. Matthias Says:

I would like to support what Hellmark said (OCT22).
Also, did you complete / develop the iPhone app?
    Thanks & br

  3. Ullzy Says:

Yes, release the source code of your beautiful application. Well done, Terry!

  4. Rick DeNatale Says:

Terry, thanks for the beautiful App, and the inspiration.

After watching The Imitation Game late last year, I had the itch to write an enigma simulator for iOS.

It took a while to write, and even longer to get through Apple’s review process, but it’s finally on the App Store. http://ricks-thoughts.denhaven2.com/imitation-enigma

  5. Arduino Enigma Says:

Another alternative to software simulations is the Arduino Enigma Machine Simulator, a dedicated device that runs a M3/M4 simulation that operates like Dirk Rijmenants Enigma Sim.

The source code for the enigma algorithm, including the Uhr switch is available here:

Hi Terry, Unfortunately it seems that your excellent Enigma emulation stopped working on the latest MacOX (El Capitan)

Been downloading and looking at a couple of simulators and this is by far the best (running on my MAC)

Won’t mind getting hands on the source code, like to see you did things.
